No, German is really fug. It's fun to look at the written words, though; it is a very visually appealing language. But it's murder to try to sing--all the ugly, non-Latin vowels do not lend themselves well to singing, so of course we're performing Der Feuerreiter in the original German. >/ (don't think I spelled that right)
