It's about this kid who falls in love with this mysterious girl he first sees in a dream and then meets at a party, but in order to date her, he must defeat her Seven Evil Ex-es in cartoonish, video-gamey combat. The plot is like two separate things - a very human, real-feeling romantic dilemma kind of story twined together with a silly teen action hero comic book-feeling plot, and for two things that are radically different, they somehow combine to create a whole new delicious entity. Like French fries dipped in a chocolate milkshake. Two things you never thought would go well together, but that somehow become a new entity more than the sum of its parts. Really, it is an honest-to-god delight. I went in with no expectations because I had barely heard of it - the marketing was abysmal and it's a shame. This movie deserves to be making more money than it currently is.

I am really excited for school! I'm just... I guess it's the usual week-beforehand apprehension that happens no matter what you do.
