What's going on in Morocco is pretty interesting if only because it shows the difference between the current king and his father.

I was watching some of the protest videos on the BBC with my mum and she was pointing out the various important buildings/trying to figure out where the videos were of. When it got to the protests outside the parliament building, she was saying how when we lived there (we left the year before the old king died), they would have never been able to get that close. There were police outside guarding it back then and you had to cross the road to get past it and some other buildings.

She also told me how my dad got spat at once in the street in 1991 (during the Gulf War) simply because he was out of the area where people recognised him. (Being spat at in the street is the Moroccan equivalent of a punch-up apparently.) D:
