Moar Dresden Files!

I just finished Turn Coat, so one more book and I'll be caught up on all the full-length novels. (Anyone know where I might be able to acquire/read the short stories online?)

In Small Favor, when Murphy unsheaths Fidelacchius and it shines with holy light and it looks like she's going to be the next KotC, I was basically writhing on my couch in ecstasy squealing "YES YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!" Then she turned it down, and I was like "WHAT? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" She still remains awesome in every conceivable way, though. Oh, Murph. ♥ I remember back when she pissed me off all the time in the first two books because she was constantly about to arrest Harry's ass and throw him in jail at the slightest provocation. It's like her badassery just increases exponentially with every book.

Kincaid's protective attitude towards Ivy is kind of cute, even though he's a heartless assassin to everyone else (excluding Murph, to whom he is a heartless assassin who is also damn sexy ;D).

I don't really know why, but I LOVE WALDO BUTTERS! I just love "Polka will never die!" it was basically one of the crowning moments in that book for me. What was it, Dead Beat? It was the one with the undead T-Rex, which was just as incredimazing as Anzy promised me. ;w;

MORGAN'S DEATH MADE ME REALLY SAD EVEN THOUGH I HATED HIM ;~~~~~~~~~~~~~~; which I guess was the whole point. It was basically the equivalent of Rolo's death in Turn 19. I spend all this time going I DO NOT LIKE YOU AND YOUR CONTINUED ANTAGONISTIC OR OTHERWISE UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR, and then they go and DIE NOBLY and I am like D': NOT FAIR, YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO DIE NOBLY UNTIL I START LIKING YOU. :c

I am SO FURIOUS about Thomas. Because when he showed up in Grave Peril, all Rich Idiot with No Day Job and maybe-he's-an-okay-guy, maybe-he'll-turn-on-us, ooooh look at me I have unreadable motives and I am also extremely hot, and I was like I AM JUST GOING TO SAVE MYSELF THE INEVITABLE HEARTBREAK AND NOT LIKE YOU. Then Blood Rites rolled around and I fell in love regardless. Then we find out what Thomas' ~super secret job~ is in White Night, and I practically dissolved into a puddle of goo.

AND THEN IN ONE BOOK, THE FRICKING NAAGLOSHITFUCKAJDSKHSAJDAL UNDOES ABOUT SEVEN BOOKS' WORTH OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IN ONE OFF-SCREEN TORTURE SESSION. WHAT THE SHIT IS THIS SHIT. It's not even that it was carried off badly in a writing/technical sense, either, I get the sense that this crushing sadness and frustration is the emotion Butcher's attempting to evoke, and it's working, but GODDAMMIT IT MAKES ME SOOOOOO MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD. I AM BASICALLY STEWING IN SILENT PISSED-OFF-NESS ABOUT THIS WHOLE BUSINESS. And right at the end of the same book in which probably my favorite Thomas-related scene occurs, when he breaks the chair over Madelaine's head and beats the shit out of her, and then lets Justine give her what for. I was like YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH that whole time, and now I am just upset. Douche maneuver, Jim Butcher. Douche maneuver. ("Douche maneuver" is a step up from "dick move," I have decided.)

And I'm all excited because Susan's in the next book, squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~

Side Stories, a compilation of all the short stories, comes out this fall.

That it happened off screen or that it happened at all?
