I was trawling TV Tropes today and I ended up getting directed by the Kingdom Hearts Nightmare Fuel page to this:

Basically, it's like okay, Roxas is chilling out at Destiny Islands or something, being all :C about a thalassa shell he picks up, and then he thinks he sees Xion and he's all like "oh hey sup" and then it's NOT Xion, it's ZEXION and he's like "okay wait what" and then Zexion starts saying his lines from his fight with Riku in Re:CoM, and suddenly Re:CoM Riku's behind Roxas saying his lines like Roxas isn't there, and then they're saying each other's lines and then Roxas is hearing them in his head and he starts to freak out, and then he's XION who's convulsing, and then it's RIKU and then it zooms in and it's like WAIT IT'S SORA'S EYE AND NOW IT'S SORA AND NOW IT'S WHAT THE CRAP IS GOING ON AAAAAAAAAH -

Apparently, it's some nightmare Xion has, but I'm like "oh my god there is no excuse for that level of mindfuckery." Seriously, Disney. What.

Oh, and then I found this:

Hnnnnngh. Oh my god. Every time I poke my head back into Kingdom Hearts fandom to see if enough shrill preteen girls have left so it's safe for me to come back (it never is, as an aside), I get re-re-re-re-reminded of the sheer amount of how much I love Riku. Seriously. It's like, every time I turn around, he becomes even more amazing. Look at that duck-turn-elbow move. Just look at it. I came.

Also, David Gallagher's voice acting. I am serious. He needs to become a full-time voice actor instead of...whatever he does. Appearing at Seventh Heaven reunions? PLEASE. No. He needs to do this as his new career. He is goddamn talented.

On that note AND to bring us back to the first topic, because of a comment on that same Nightmare Fuel page, I went back and rewatched some old KH cutscenes, and it's one of those things that just gets creepier the longer you think about it, but you know when Riku's possessed by Ansem in the first game? And they layer David Gallagher and Billy Zane's voices together (on that note: HNNNNNNGH. goddammit Billy Zane why did you have to go appear in some dick Anti-Semitic movie and cause Disney to cut ties with you, come on, you were the only Ansem for me) - when they do that, you don't realize at first, but the only voice doing any actual emoting and inflection is Ansem's. Riku's is in monotone.

....just let that seep in for a moment. YEAH. I was like, ".....oh god that is fridge horror."

I forget the original point of this post. Riku distracted me with his sexy.

And I love Riku in both those games. ♥♥

Kind of interesting that those are both handhelds, too. :/a oh but then BBS breaks the mold. Unless it is also mindscrewy. I just know it has Aqua, who is currently my first and only girlcrush. ♥___♥

I seriously love Kingdom Hearts for Riku; the baby has so little self-esteem, so much to make up for, and just akjd;fa I love the bb so much, ;///; Okay, I love practically the whole cast, but I got a soft spot for him.

And I agree with you so hard: David seriously needs to consider Voice Acting because I'm sick of Vic Whatthefuckhisface being in every goddamn thing, be it video-game or anime, and I think the boy has some serious talent. His voice is real, not cartoonish, a-and akffla /fag for his voice

I KNOOOOW but he keeps his snark and some of his cockiness without being an overall dick like he was in the first game, but he was just YOUNG AND STUPID then, really. ;; and scared, like anyone would be after ending up in a creepy world after your own world asploded with no word on your friends ;; even if he did make some very dumb decisions. HE WAS 15. And now he's all like the Atoner~ and he's like I WOULD GIVE UP ANYTHING FOR MY FRIENDS and I am just like ;~~~~; you are such a good kid, Riku, you don't even know. The one scene from Re:CoM, where he's talking to Mickey like, "If I lose this fight, Ansem's going to possess me again, and I'd rather die than be used like that, so you should kill me to save the world," and I was like OH GOD DDDDDD'8 THIS KID. LOOK AT HIM. ;~~~~~~~~;

but Mickey was like THIS IS DISNEY, MOTHERFUCKER, WE AIN'T GOT TIME FOR YOUR HIGH SCHOOL EMO PHASE B| so it was cool. :|b

VA: yessss. Now, I like Vic Mignogna, but I am also so like "MAN WE NEED EVEN MORE AWESOME VA'S IN THE DUB BUSINESS BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE WITH LIKE NO TALENT." And David Gallagher has that talent. He just. augh. He pays attention to the little details, you know? Little movements, or quirks of expression. And he doesn't make the rookie mistake of having a Stock Gasp. All his non-verbal vocalizations feel real and not forced. And oh man, can he scream. hnnnngh.

IKR WTF. I watched and I was like oh god what is going onnnnnnn

SO MUCH WEIRD STUFF happened in Days, man. I had to watch the cutscene you mentioned first a couple of times and read the journal entries to understand what was going on.

IA DAVID GALLAGHER IS GREAT and Riku needs to get some more self esteem :( He is a fantastic boy and I feel really bad when he is just so SELFLESS and all DEPRESSING. Chin up, man. Go back to Destiny Islands and make funny faces at everyone :(
