DUDE. I love how, like, the first thing people raise about Pokemon is WHY ARE THESE TEN YEAR OLD KIDS LIVING BY THEMSELVES IN THE WILD, and I am like BUT THAT'S THE WAY THEIR WORLD IS BUILT, AND IN POKESPE, THE KIDS ALL HAVE BURIED ISSUES AND IT IS AMAZING. Ruby, oh my god, his relationship with his father is so incredibly toxic, and that's why it's so compelling omg. And don't get me started on Red. And Emerald.
It now occurs to me that I seemingly haven't really gotten into Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum as much as all the earlier characters. It's not that I don't like them, it's just--they're so small and cute compared to everyone else that I can't do fandom things with them like shipping. XD
