Another Irish Drinking Song

God, if I could just pick up everyone on my flist and drop them into GX fandom, I'd do it in a heartbeat. This show, I swear to god, is just so much fun to be a fan of. It's not even that the plot is stellar (which it isn't), or that the characters are amazing (which THEY ARE); it's just that talking about the wacky plot and the fantastic characters is just. It's just so much fun.

Like, I spent about two hours last night rescreening a couple of episodes from my favorite part of season three, and just raving with one of my plurk/RP/GX fandom buddies about them. There were gifs and screams and squeals. It made me feel a lot better after previously having an emo rant earlier in the evening. I mean, first it was the fact that the voice-acting in the subs is about 117% better than in the dubs, and then it was O'Brien's legendary gaydar, and then it was speculation on the nature of the world-building in season three and beyond, and then it was endless screaming upon finding out that the dub had neglected to mention some of the more horror-inducingly awful deeds that Our Protagonist commits in this season, and then. I just. oh my god you guys. I want to share this fandom with everyone in the world ;~~~~~~~~~;

But I know not everything is everyone else's thing, too, you know? Like, I've tried to get into fandoms that others on my flist will spend posts and posts raving about, and just not been interested, even though I want to be. I know it goes both ways. But still. ;;

Have you guys ever had a fandom like that? Where it isn't very popular, or very well-regarded, but it just grabs you in some way, and you want everyone to know about it the way you do?

Remember that time I read the game script to The World Ends With You? Yeah, well, during a large shopping excursion Friday night which I forgot to write about, I finally managed to turn up a used copy in a mall in Syracuse after scouring game shops for months.

I just bought Okami and I spent three hours playing it.  What an amazing game.  Yes, I am super old-school behind-the-times, but whatever.  Okami's awesome.

Also, went and saw Star Trek.  Speaking as a person who has never ever seen anything Star Trek or even Star Trek-related in her life, I thought it was the best movie I've seen all year.  I also saw Up two days ago, and cried like a little girl.  Great movies, the both of them.  Up is so cute, I think it could cure cancer.

So I'm supposed to be writing several Creative Writing stories that I am way behind on, in addition to doing that term paper that is due A WEEK FROM TOMORROW, but I was instead thinking about frivolous things. So I felt like sharing.

Yes, this is a post entirely about my dorkery for the week.

I started replaying Pokemon Silver.  I....don't know how this happened.  I just woke up, went to pitching with my sadistic pitching coach lady (who is very sadistic), came home, and suddenly scrounged up my GBA and my copy of Pokemon Silver, and started playing.  I really just don't know what's wrong with me.  I had rehabbed myself and everything.  Already, I want to be playing right now.

Also, I started reading Animorphs about five or six months ago.  Can I just say that these are the greatest books in the history of ever?  They are everything I have ever wanted:

--Six amazing, well-developed, awesome characters that make me fangirl over all of them
--Equal narrative time with each of them (each book is written in first-person POV from one of the six)
--Body-snatching aliens that are taking over the world
--A parental reveal that was actually surprising and touching, for all that it could have been such a cliche
--Mature themes of war and morality in books written for fifth graders
--They're long enough to satisfy, and short enough to be compulsively readable, like candy.

....Why have I never discovered wrestling before?

Short story short, I promised abrof  and chocomarauder  I'd come to one of their wrestling matches one of these days, this became the day, and I think I lost my voice from screaming.  I was so pumped!  Watching wrestling is awesome!  (I kind of ended up mostly watching the guys' rear ends, but let's not throw stones at the newbie, shall we?  *sweat*)  I kind of want to, like, break stuff or something, I'm so jacked up right now.

Or I would be, except my little sister's out getting X-rays of her elbows.  They might be fractured; she fell on them really hard at her basketball game, and she's in a lot of pain.  DDDDDD:  Keep her in your thoughts/prayers/Satanic rituals tonight, plz?  (Maybe not so much the last one.)
