Another Irish Drinking Song

God, if I could just pick up everyone on my flist and drop them into GX fandom, I'd do it in a heartbeat. This show, I swear to god, is just so much fun to be a fan of. It's not even that the plot is stellar (which it isn't), or that the characters are amazing (which THEY ARE); it's just that talking about the wacky plot and the fantastic characters is just. It's just so much fun.

Like, I spent about two hours last night rescreening a couple of episodes from my favorite part of season three, and just raving with one of my plurk/RP/GX fandom buddies about them. There were gifs and screams and squeals. It made me feel a lot better after previously having an emo rant earlier in the evening. I mean, first it was the fact that the voice-acting in the subs is about 117% better than in the dubs, and then it was O'Brien's legendary gaydar, and then it was speculation on the nature of the world-building in season three and beyond, and then it was endless screaming upon finding out that the dub had neglected to mention some of the more horror-inducingly awful deeds that Our Protagonist commits in this season, and then. I just. oh my god you guys. I want to share this fandom with everyone in the world ;~~~~~~~~~;

But I know not everything is everyone else's thing, too, you know? Like, I've tried to get into fandoms that others on my flist will spend posts and posts raving about, and just not been interested, even though I want to be. I know it goes both ways. But still. ;;

Have you guys ever had a fandom like that? Where it isn't very popular, or very well-regarded, but it just grabs you in some way, and you want everyone to know about it the way you do?

Well, that was the most disappointing spring break ever. No RL friends, no movies I wanted to see (until Limitless came in on Friday, but then I was busy with family and couldn't go /rage), and no downloading all those subbed episodes of GX because the site went down five days before I could get home to my limit-free wireless (/RAGE).

On the plus side, I got to walk my dog four miles every day. And before you think that's my sarcasm talking, no, I actually took her that far on purpose, just to get out of my house. D'|

also, I counted up my GX icons and they outnumber my Star Driver icons. OH FFFUUUU I WAS GONNA CATCH UP ON STAR DRIVER THIS WEEK AND I NEVER DID DAMMIT.

But the week was not without nice things, I suppose, as I did get a lot of sleep and I beat Pokemon White (*o*) and I made a new friend (Welcome to my flist, aphotic!), and I got a haircut. My hair needed it.


...rereading this and wow, my life is boring.

Welp, 2 out of 6 pages done for my paper.

After it's done, I'm watching the Star Driver eps I missed, going to bed, and then hitting Kannagara up again tomorrow after my classes.

I never actually hiatused because I didn't expect school to blindside me with an effing eighteen-wheeler of OH SHIT I FORGOT I REALLY SHOULD BE DOING THIS THING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE SOON, and now I am literally two weeks behind and I fell behind in the middle of a major, game-wide event, right after someone joined with two new castmates. I AM THE WORST ROLEPLAYER EVER AND I DON'T DESERVE ALL THE LOVELY PEOPLE IN IT ;;

I don't even know how to explain wth Lulu's been doing, my choices are:
1. backdate a metric fuckton of shit and constantly have outdated threads running forever
2. handwave something vague and frustrating to my castmates
3. backlog him getting killed off
4. do nothing and cry in a corner
5. put the finishing touches on Ax's app and hope no one notices Lelouch's timeline plot holes during the ensuing squeefest with the Animorphs CR. MISDIRECTION FOR THE WIN.

edit: as of 1:45 am, I have 2 and a half pages down, the only reason being that my uterus is attempting to strangle me to death and I am in severe pain that precludes having any sort of attention span.

edit: 1:50 am. curled up on bed in whimpering huddle. debating struggling to three pages and then writing other three during Astronomy, which I do not actually have to attend tomorrow

So I didn't actually need to go to my Astronomy class today because my prof is away and he's not taking attendance and they were just showing a thing in the visualization lab. I was whacked hard in the middle of my Creative Writing class with fresh inspiration for my workshop story, so I decided to go down to the comp lab and write instead. It's rough, I know I'm going to change shit, but at least I broke the 500-word barrier.

However, the assignment that's actually due next week lies unstarted next to me, I have an academic paper due the 13th, and this story won't be due until mid-November.

I got four hours of sleep last night! 8D Sleeping with four slices of Pizza Hut on my stomach = not the best idea that has ever jumped into my head :/a But I don't regret it, as making a late night pizza date with my bffl was the only thing that kept me sane through a Saturday overtime shift. That and the thought of double-time pay. Sob.

Said bffl also gave me her old Sapphire cartridge! I CAN NOW PLAY A GEN III GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME AND EXPERIENCE THE PLOT OF THE GAMES THAT INSPIRED MY FAVORITE POKESPE ARC. Also, Ruby and Sapphire are OTP even in chibisprite form eeeeeeeeee~ :3 Also my Zigzagoon is named Crackoon and that alone proves I am a derp. (Plus it has the ability Pickup which for all intents and purposes literally makes him my crack mule.)

ALSO ALSO I FINALLY GOT MY REPLACEMENT POKEWALKER IN THE MAIL YAAAAAAAAAY.

I accidentally left my Pokewalker in my shorts and it went through the wash and now it doesn't work and I am really sad about it. ;~~~~;

icon = the poor Magikarp which is now resting in limbo in the Distortion World or wherever digitally lost Pokemon go.
