elementalhero: NO PANTS (ξsd | other dramatic cape icon)
I recently found this blog which is a speculation/spoilers/analysis blog on Star Driver. I feel like I need to go back and rewatch some of this because HOLY SHIT there are characters whose names I have yet to memorize; more importantly, OH MY GOD PHOENICIAN LETTERS AND SEMITIC LANGUAGES USED AS THE SYMBOLIC MOTIF IN THE NAMING OF THE MECHAS AND THE PEOPLE WHO PILOT THEM OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD.

Okay, I am going to attempt to watch the final two episodes of Code Geass tonight.

If you never see me again, my head probably exploded.

Sorry I haven't done much lately but memes, you guys. I've finally recovered almost completely from my Horrible Teef Surgery and lived to tell the tale, so here's a sort-of catch-up post about my mostly-crappy-but-actually-pretty-okay holidays, as well as some random internet crap.

You have died for this village! )

ON HAPPIER NOTES, HAVE SOME SPAM:

Auto Tune the News: This is a series of videos, in which the news is made to be musical and hilarious. Sadly, there are only nine! This is the source of most of my derpy journal titles lately.

NABURO: oh god XDX This is....well, just. Click the link. It's an incredibly bad Naruto ripoff manga from Indonesia. It's honestly so brain-searingly bad that it's hilarious, as well as terrifying. If you liked the first link, here's the second. I have already noticed some of the quotes undergoing memetic mutation. I say we encourage it. It's amazing. /glances at journal title and cut-text

And here's a meme!

Put your music player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty-one songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-second is the title.

I Think of a Lot of Things When I'm Walking

Now we're broken on the floor.
Prison gates won't open up for me--
Reach out, touch faith.

You can dig me up a grave,
Three sleepless nights.
We both take the hardest punches.
Black widow in a white room, will you survive?

Crawling streets are cleared away.
We only want to sing you to sleep.
I close both locks below the window.

Let's talk, and we'll fill the air.
Everyone says, sooner or later,
"I've noticed your design.
Raise your hands out and testify!"

This world will never be what I expected.

And I love her so,
Stems and gears, oh how the daisies bloom.
Autumn brought some kind of change.

Consider this your final warning:
In the middle of a gunfight...

No, she won't, she won't, she won't wait.

Days Six and Seven, belatedly...

Sharing is Caring:
For one week, recommend/share...

Day 1: a song
Day 2: a picture
Day 3: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day 4: a site
Day 5: a youtube clip
Day 6: a quote
Day 7: whatever tickles your fancy

Quote:

"So this is the thing I really want to drive home for any and all people who find something special in my books (or, for that matter, in anyone else's).

It's not the book. It's you. It's your mind doing all the work. Your commitment, your willingness to be touched, your suspension of disbelief and the power of your imagination. That's why there are many, many people who will never be moved by some story you love -- or, for some impoverished souls, by any story at all.

If you find something extraordinary in one of my books, it's because it was already inside you, and the words just helped you locate it, that's all."
--Matthew Stover's blog (emphasis mine)

Matthew Stover is my personal freaking god.

Whatever:

Pokemon Quartz.

This is a Let's Play (a video or photo--in this case, screenshot--record of someone else playing through a video game) of the best worst video game mod ever created. Some random Spanish guy who spoke little English hacked together the most ridiculous Pokemon mod ever, containing creepy dialogue, terrible Spanglish, Gary-Stu self-inserts out the wazoo, and the butt-ugliest fake Pokemon ever. The person creating the LP makes the funniest commentary, and the general WTFness of it all is highly entertaining, to say the least.

Site Rec: The Adventures of Dr. McNinja

This, my friends, is a webcomic. It is about Dr. McNinja. He is a doctor who is also a ninja.

It is the one of the most ridiculously awesome things on the internet.

Here's a summary of the plots of the first four out of thirteen issues: Dr. McNinja infiltrates McDonald's, battling robot employees and the sinister mime powers of Ronald McDonald in order to get them to stop naming fart burgers after him. Then he uses both his ninja and doctoring skills to cure a child of Paul Bunyan's disease, which causes you to turn into a giant lumberjack. Then we get some origin story when the his family's past is explored while they battle the worst pirates ever using forzen shamrocks as shurikens. Then Dr. McNinja finally gains a sidekick, the eleven-year-old, bushy-walrus-mustache-sporting Gordito (he grew it by sheer will), when he investigates the illicit activities of three raptor-riding genetic-scientists-turned-banditos. And the plots only get weirder from there. It's awesome.

YouTube Clip:

This is the Naruto Super Dub, created by egoraptor of "Metal Gear Awesome" fame. The summer before my senior year, I must have watched this vid roughly twice a day. Every day. Then, when [livejournal.com profile] jaderhade and I went to the beach, we could not spend more than thirty seconds between conversations without suddenly bursting into a full rendition, starting with "Where'd you plan on sticking that umbrella, jackass, there's no sand!" Ahaha, juvenile spoof fandubs...

~Just saw Public Enemies.  I didn't really like it--the cinematography was weird, the plot was nebulous, and the lighting was awkward.  I just don't think it was my kind of movie, is all--I know a few people who said they loved it.

~Saw Harry Potter 6 again last night.  THE FORESHADOWING AND SYMBOLISM IS SOOO EPIC, EVEN MORE SO THE SECOND TIME AROUND, EEEE~  Like the seven rocks lined up on Tom Riddle's window in the orphanage and the random items like photographs they focus on for a couple of seconds that hint at the Horcruxes to come, eeeeeee~  Also: in the scene where Harry touches the ring?  And it spins around and he gets all those crazy flashes of Voldemort?  AND THEN THERE'S A PAUSE AND HE QUIETLY, SUBTLY, DOES THAT NECK-CRACK THING HE DOES IN MOVIE 5???  AUUUUUUUGH BEAUTIFUL FORESHADOWING, DAN HOW DO YOU MAKE A NERVOUS TWITCH SO SEXY~

~I am so addicted to Code Geass, it isn't even funny.  SUZAKUUUUU DDD: WHY SUCH A WOOBIEFACE, SUZAKU, YOU ARE BREAKING MY HEART~  Also, Lelouch is a total dramahor and I love it.

~I bought some music from iTunes yesterday.  I got the Watchmen soundtrack (want the movie sooooo baaaaaad), which is lovely, and I...also bought...the song "Mmmbop," by Hanson.  SHUT UP STOP JUDGING ME IT IS MY CHILDHOOD WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE.

~Have discovered the lunacy of Olde English Comedy.  Seriously, check out these guys' sketches--totally hilarious.  My favorite, though long, is "Cave Miners."

~Tomorrow is Sasuke's birthday.  I ought to celebrate by taking care of his tags.  >.>

I would like to thank TV Tropes for introducing me to this site.  Basically, they make fun of the hilariously bad covers of cheap romance novels.  So funny.
