Give me a character I play and I will give you a few facts about them according to my own personal canon. This can range from their birthday, favorite color or even their earliest memory up to what they had last night for dinner.

Date: 2009-03-02 04:42 am (UTC)Itachi's second chakra affinity is water. Thus, his water and fire natures are always in conflict, representing his souuuuuullll~~~~
Itachi used to have phobias of blood and carrion birds. Blood, he trained himself out of until he basically deadened himself to the reaction. Carrion birds, he sort of adopted as his calling card (him and his sexy murders of crows~ ♥), a la Batman Begins (if I'm scared of them, everyone else gets to be, too).
Itachi sometimes has nightmares where Orochimaru comes to kill him in Sasuke's body. He also has nightmares where Orochimaru comes to kill Sasuke in his body. Basically, it's a touchy issue. (One of his crowning moments was chopping off Orochimaru's freaking hand. :DDDDDDDD)
Long before he joined Akatsuki, Itachi had known of Mitarashi Anko by reputation. He knew what his father had told him: she was unstable, a bad influence as a result of her crazy sensei, whom Sarutobi should have kicked out years ago but was too spineless to, and generally unfit to continue being a ninja. Upon seeing her, though, he secretly wished he could be as strong as she must have been.
When Itachi was nine, he took the Chuunin Exams with her and one of her teammates, Kamizuki Izumo. Their other teammate, Hagane Kotetsu, had been sick. She refused to call him by his name for the first three days, insisting on "shorty," "the genius," or "bright eyes." It was only after Izumo got injured, and Itachi had to help her kick the crap out of some ninja team, that she began calling him by name. They didn't make it through to the third round because they needed to drop out for Izumo's sake, but he passed the second time he went through, this time with his own team. Needless to say, the first time, his father had been furious.
Itachi kept Mr. Roary since the night of the massacre. After his death, Sasuke finds the old plush toy in Itachi's chambers, and promptly has a silent cry.
I won't torment you with any more beyond those.

Date: 2009-03-04 08:01 am (UTC)The fire/water thing is so freaking perfect of Itachi.
I adore his opinions on Anko (yet, I bet your disapproval, daddy, just made her that much more interesting) and I really like the dreams with Orochimaru. Because I imagine that idea would hold a lot of trauma for Itachi for several reasons.

Date: 2009-03-02 04:55 am (UTC)oh hay there, RP account in question
Date: 2009-03-02 05:06 am (UTC)Godot: Sasuke doesn't know it consciously, but Godot is basically the father he should have had. None of this 'Uchiha Fugaku' crap. THEY ARE SO MUCH PHILOSOPHICAL LUFF~
Byakuya: Sasuke hates him. He's kind of if you took Itachi and sucked all the cuddlyness out of him (in Sasuke's eyes), and he's a Kuchiki. They have cooties~
Iroh: He teaches one of Sasuke's favorite classes, so Sasuke likes him okay as a teacher, but not one-on-one. Iroh's too cuddly, and he likes tea, which was an Itachi/clan thing that Sasuke never bought into. And now Godot has helped him discover his inner coffee-drinker, so...
Rangiku: Sasuke is befuddled and slightly irritated by her. I mean, seriously, all the sparkles? Argh.
Headmaster Cid: Really annoying and incompetent. Sasuke still hasn't forgiven him for the 'stuck-to-one-person' day. (Also, he was head at the time of the clan massacre. Uh.... ouch.)
Akabane: Creepy. Sasuke doesn't trust him one bit.
Kenpachi: Sasuke respects the hell out of him but does not like him.
Cloud: Little to no opinion.
Howl: Little to no opinion.
Ashe: He sees her as a little too nosy and do-goody for his liking.
Nanao: Their rivalry and mutual hatred is legendary. She never forgave him for setting a greenhouse on fire in hsi third year; he never forgave her for her slightly-less-than-blatant antagonism towards him from then on.
Oh, snap!
Date: 2009-03-02 07:06 am (UTC)Godot - That thing would have made him wibble a bit if he weren't so damn cool.
Except he is totally fond of Sasuke. Tell anyone and he'll just chuckle and sip his coffee, though. Thanks for that though XD that was very interesting. Rangiku made a face at the comments on her and Ashe, and I am lawling so hard at the Sasuke v. Nanao thing in the RP. Dear god, the hilarity! XD
Re: Oh, snap!
Date: 2009-03-02 07:22 am (UTC)Aww...well, Sasuke never interacted with them anyway, so. :/
Godot: baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwww~ he's a secret woobie and you know it.
Yeah, Sasuke v. Nanao is basically the Final Struggle. Not even Itachi can hope to be as monumental an opponent.
Re: Oh, snap!
Date: 2009-03-02 07:28 am (UTC)<3?
Godot: HE IS THE COOLEST KING OF COOL THAT WAS EVER KINGLY AND COOL. But he believes in love and looking after the people important to you III/
The Final Struggle? I kind of want to draw a comic book titled that. SW- doujin FTW!
SASUKE VERSUS NANAO - WILL THE KILLING NEVER STOP?

Date: 2009-03-03 03:14 am (UTC)Thoughts on Winry:
He's fascinated with her because she terrifies him in a number of ways. One, her general tendency to upset everything he thought he knew about girls. Two, the fact that she is, for all intents and purposes, Sakura without any sort of long-term emotional baggage that would prevent her from bashing in hsi skull if he ever broke her heart. Three, and most importantly, the fact that he is absolutely, crazily, irrevocably in love with her, and he has no idea why. The whole concept of love is scary to Sasuke because for all his experiences, it seems to him to be this ridiculous, irrational and dangerous thing, kind of like nitroglycerin, where it could help with your heart condition but could also explode in your face more often than naught. And he sees people throwing around love and the word 'love' like Superballs, and he's like, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THAT IS DANGEROUS STUFF YOUNG MAN."
But Winry also isn't Sakura. She's a bit more tomboyish, more forceful. Sakura still has that slight tendency to let her feelings get hurt too easily, which Sasuke learned to exploit a lot back in his bastard days. Winry, by contrast, is the girl across the street raised in a house full of brothers: "What, you just hit me in the metaphorical gut? *SMACKS A BITCH IN THE FACE WITH A WRENCH*" Her emotional constitution's a little stronger, or she's at least better at hiding the fact that she's hurt. I kind of see her like the girl trying to rescue the wounded dog: if she gets bit, she grimaces, wraps her hand in a bandage, and persists until she can get that mutt some medical freaking attention.
And that's what Sasuke needed. Sakura was a little too soft on him; she tried the Tough Love thing, but Sasuke knew her for a long time and probably didn't respect her on that level enough for it to work (that's not to be read as "he doesn't respect her," by the way, because he does, just in a different way), and she felt bad for him after learning a lot about that factors that made him what he is. But he didn't need coddling--the period of his life where that would have helped in any way was already over, and new tactics were necessary. Winry figured out that what he needed was to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into redemption.
Thoughts on Sakura:
Most of them were stated above. There may have been a brief window of opportunity where they could have gotten together and made it work, but either Sakura was too busy trying to prove she was over her silly infatuation (as opposed to a healthy mutual understanding), or Sasuke was too busy pushing people away and hating himself/basically everyine else, and they missed it. Now, it's just kind of like, Sasuke recognizes that without Sakura, he would have crashed and burned long ago. And of course, he feels guilty about how he treated her, and he has to be careful that he doesn't default to his Guilt Reaction, which is to convince himself that because he is so awful, he doesn't deserve friends, and for these friends' Own Good, he pushes them away, making him feel More Guilty, causing him to behave Even More Coldly and Horribly, leading him to ENDLESS ITERATION OF FAIL UNTIL SYSTEM CRASHES.
WHOA HANG ON I BROKE THE COMMENT LIMIT HOLY CRAP
TL;DR TWO: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
Date: 2009-03-03 03:14 am (UTC)It's remarkable. Sakura and Winry's influence (and also Godot, can't forget the Replacement Father Figure) have basically turned Sasuke completely around. He's no longer shutting down every time he feels slightly happy, he's finding himself caring more and more about other people, he's doing so much better with the whole physical contact thing, and I think that realizing that Winry likes him just as much as he likes her has started to slowly (very slowly; it's a sea change kind of thing) make him start to like himself a little more, too. And if Sasuke learns to like himself, he'll learn to let other people like him, too. And that's when he'll be fully cured, I think. If only he'd let go of the Itachi deal, he could be better within the month, but unfortunately, that's a bone that's not going to get dropped for a long time. Eventually he'll let it go; it'll be one of those "It has to get worse before it gets better" things.
I'm not really sure how I see Sakura having changed since the beginning of the RP. I think she's learned that sometimes for good things to happen, she has to sit back and let them happen. Like, for Sasuke to have his big epiphany, she had to not be there, so he could realize he misses her, and meet Winry, and generally learn to pick himself up off the floor when she's not there to hover around like a concerned mother bird. (I guess he needed to leave the nest at some point, to be a good little hawk metaphor deal thing.) And for her to hook up with Al, she had to not worry so much about what other people were thinking about it. I see Sakura as having realized the whole "what you can and can't control" thing. Reminds me of a prayer that my grandmother says all the time: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Sakura's starting to figure out the difference.
