lmfao, I loved Ichi the Killer for everything you've stated: most Japanese horror cinema is just as you said, which is.....why I like it so much. And why I'm a horrible feminist.
Also, I would kick the authors in the teeth and write a letter of complaint. I understand that sort of mindset will still cling to a school like that but that doesn't make it right. A partially liberal but still clinging to the Olden Male Days of Old college should, by now, be loosing that sort of outlook.
