I KNOW RIGHT?? I DIDN'T MAKE THAT CONNECTION UNTIL LIKE MY THIRD READTHROUGH AND THEN I WAS LIKE OH GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD D8
Seriously though, if you notice, it's after this chapter that Green gets less smirky/cocky and develops into the linefacing withdrawn badass we know him as later. As in, he stops showing emotions easily to others after spending two weeks locked in a tower full of the undead.
God. With Green and his repressed trauma, Red and his no-parents issues, Blue and her stolen childhood, Silver and his problems, Ruby and his paternal abuse, Crystal and her maternal abuse, and Emerald and his disability, it's a wonder any of these kids are the protagonists of a kid's manga.
