I totally agree and have been saying for a while that Team 7 is the successful version of the Sannin (on of the many reasons it urks me that Sakura is so underpowered compared to Sasuke and Naruto).
And I really like the idea of Orochimaru raising his parents from the head and then learning that it was a hollow victory - it gives him a nice tragic angle.
