ganked from [livejournal.com profile] digthenym :

1. Comment to this post with the name of a character that I have written in fic. Or geeked out about. Or RPed. You should probably make sure it's one I've written more than once or twice.

2. I will comment telling you the following:

A. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
B. One of his/her best traits.
C. One of his/her worst traits.
D. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
E. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character (if I've written them).
F. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.

Go to it!  :D

Anko!

From: [identity profile] okroginator.livejournal.com
A. I've always loved Anko, but I never tried my hand at writing her until I started writing Itachi/Anko (because, as I found out, her head was easier to get into than Itachi's).
B. Anko's a survivor. She does what it takes to survive. And yet, she also has this intense, deep-running loyalty that allows her to sacrifice herself for something greater than her.
C. She has a tendency to rush into things without thinking. She also has a hard time keeping her mouth shut.
D. I've been finding it much easier the longer I RP her.
E. Let me answer that later; I don't really have the time to dig it up right now. :C
F. I want to write her into more one-shots, plus my ongoing chapterfic Those Who Favor Fire (which I need to update, orz), as well continuing to RP her.

E. from unseen:

Anko stares at him for a long time.

"Aw, what the shit. I'm going to hell anyway," she mutters, undoing the lock and pushing his cell door open.

I think this captures the way I see Anko as behaving. She'll give a lot of thought to things in her own way, and then go ahead and do something totally off-the-cuff and damn the consequences. It's not that she doesn't think about what she's doing; it's that she doesn't care, and that's what I love about her. ♥

Madara <3

Date: 2009-07-29 02:07 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] okroginator.livejournal.com
A. From the second we got Tobi standing in the rain, bwa-ha-ha-ing about his secret identity that nobody saw coming, I was like, "Madara. Is officially. My favorite villain in the history of existence."
B. His Magnificent Bastardry, his hawt Uchiha-ness, and the way he can pull off ridiculous over-the-top villain scenes without devolving into Narm, not by trying to make them srsface but by actively trying not to. Juxtapose that with his silver tongue and brain-breaking lying skillz, and he's pretty much the badass-est thing ever.
C. He's kind of a jerk-ass. :|
D. Oh, godsohard. D: Made worse by the fact that I play with the best Madara ever RP'd, and I can never write him without suffering deterioration of my self-esteem. Like binge-drinking and suffering liver damage. Or reductions to the Sanity Meter in Eternal Darkness (which I have never played, btw.).
E. I don't write him much, but this scene from Insomniac:

“You’re Uchiha Madara,” I said.

He fell down. There was a loud thud and crash of twigs. He popped up three trees away, completely unharmed. I was unfazed—this was the kind of thing he did. “Uchiha Madara?
Me?
F. I have a couple AUFuture!oneshots in which he features prominently, as well as Those Who Favor Fire.

A. After he died. :C I bawled, and then I wanted to get in his head.
B. His hotness, his willingness to sacrifice his own happiness for the village/Sasuke's betterment, his badassery.
C. His weird abusive take on love (probably attributable to his crapsack childhood, but still)
D. It was hard, and then easier, and then hard again (meaning I had the hang of him for a while via my RP muse, but the muse has been suffering and I feel like I'm losing grip on how to write him. :C)
E. from Insomniac:

“This is the greatest moment of your life,” Madara says, “and you’re missing it.”

Breathe.

Breathe.

My arm is aching and my feet are frozen and the river is fighting and fighting and Shisui is fighting and fighting and I’m not here, I’m not, I’m with Sasuke no that won’t work because Shisui has the same Uchiha baby face and I can’t look at his face right now because he’s drowning I’m drowning him I’m drowning I’m with Anko I’m under the night sky I’m anywhere but here.

“Because everything up to now is a story,” Madara says, “and everything after now is a story.”

I’m not here.

I’m not holding my best friend underwater until he stops struggling and his face is turning blue and slackening and his eyes flicker redblackredblack and I can’t even see the betrayal in them anymore.

Breathe.

He can’t breathe.

Breathe.

Don’t look.

Breathe and don’t think.

Juxtaposed with:

The shuriken slices his arm and I’m not here and my fist is in his gut and I’m not here and black sun black moon rips into his eyes and his mind and I’m not here and and and

I’m here.

I can’t do this.

Deliver me from being perfect and complete and I can’t do this, Madara.

Hate me
for doing this and despise me for living and live your unsightly life because we are not beautiful and unique snowflakes and cling to life without honor because there is no honor in our lives, Sasuke.

I think that I succeeded in creating the situation in Shisui's death scene, of Itachi mentally divorcing himself from what is going on, and then subverting it when he tries to do the same fighting Sasuke and is unable to. This is honestly how I view Itachi in canon. I think that he manages to do the horrible things he does in the name of "good" and "the mission," etc. by literally blanking out, by sort of removing his consciousness from what he is doing. Which also explains his total "blankness" all the time--it's not that he hides his emotions, it's that he detaches himself from them completely, in a sort of sociopathic way. How else could he have broken Sasuke's wrist, beaten the shit out of him, and mindraped him without mercy, and still claim to love him? Total Zen-like detachment.

F. Obviously, he's a major character in Those Who Favor Fire, as well as maybe a couple one-shots. I've hiatused him briefly at Dollsy to see if the muse comes back.

I don't know if you've geeked out about her, but I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on Hinata.

I...really don't feel qualified to write this for Hinata. I've never written her. No, that's a lie, she appears for, like, pretty much a cameo in the prologue of TWFF, but that's it.

Nevertheless...

A. I like Hinata. I really do. I just rarely...notice her unless she's doing something right in front of me. I sound like Naruto.
B. Her silent determination and willingness to better herself. Also, jumping in front of Pain even though she knew she'd die, FTFW!
C. Her silence. Stick up for yourself more often, Hinata! We like you! We really do!
D. Hard. I don't know enough about her.
E. N/A
F. I...really have no plans for her, sadly.

*nods*

I rather feel the same way about Hinata. I like her, but all the good stories that need telling have been written by other people and better than I could.
