To celebrate me finishing Season One of Code Geass (and starting Season Two, whut whut), I'm redoing this meme!

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your music player and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it’s over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them.

1. ¡Viva La Gloria!, by Green Day (Kallen)

Ohgi looks overly concerned sometimes.

"I'm fine," I snap, pulling a collar up and pretending not to wince when his hand brushes my bruised rib.

"You don't always have to be the one in charge of raids," he says. "Let Tamaki or Sugiyama take one. You rest. If you keep going out so frequently, they'll learn your face."

And leave Naoto's dream in someone else's hands? Not likely. This is our responsibility. But I don't say so. Maybe Ohgi's right.

"We can't go on like this," I whisper.

2. Hallelujah, by k.d. lang (Suzaku/Euphy)

In the aftermath, no one understood.

Suzaku couldn't understand.

There's blood splattered up the sides of her dress, on her face, her fingernails split from scrabbling at the side of a machine gun, and her eyes are suddenly, frighteningly vacant when the words lazily spill from her lips you're Japanese, aren't you?

And nothing makes sense anymore.

And everything is broken.

And her smile is so beautiful he can't tell her what she did. To him. To everything.

And when the monitors stop beeping and start keening in high white death tones, Suzaku understands that there is no victory anywhere.

3. Camisado, by Panic! at the Disco (Suzaku)

This was no accident.

He's hearing a stranger over the recording speaking with his voice, he's seeing a stranger before his eyes killing with her smile, and now he's understanding that this is no disease of the mind, it is real.

It's funny. It's taken the full realization of Zero's betrayal to make him understand his methods, to comprehend how anything could justify the slaughter of innocents.

Suzaku would step over a thousand corpses now if it meant putting his hands around Zero's neck.

4. Drive, by Incubus (Lelouch)

Lelouch wonders how much of his life he has spent in fear.

Watching the persecution of Elevens, afraid to do anything more drastic than small gestures. Feeling Nunnally run her fingers over his face and forcing a smile, afraid to let her feel the scorch of anger rising in his cheeks or the tears he never let himself cry for her. Laying awake and closing his eyes against the image of his father that rises up sometimes, in his nightmares.

And now...

Now he'll never fear again.

5. Savior, by Skillet (Lelouch)

Some would ask, what kind of savior puts a bullet between the eyes of his older brother?

Some would ask, what kind of messiah allows hundreds, thousands maybe, to smother to death beneath an engineered landslide?

Some would ask, what kind of hero wears a mask?

And the answer is, one who doesn't intend to preach, but to save.

One who would do whatever it took to get his followers to the Promised Land, no matter how many bodies he must walk over to carry them there.

One who would destroy in order to create.

And some might ask if he could even save himself.

6. COLORS, by FLOW (ahaha the irony) (Lelouch)

Lelouch looks at the flag, and decides he'd like to burn it someday.

7. Nine in the Afternoon, by Panic! at the Disco (Lelouch & Suzaku)

The school is a haven for them.

For Lelouch, it's a needed break from the gut-wrenching stress of being responsible for lives. For Suzaku, it's an oasis, a symbol of what he can achieve with ideals and hard work, proof that prejudice can be overcome, and that people are, on the inside, basically good.

But no haven is eternal.

8. Sandstorm, by Darude (Kallen)

Sometimes it looks like a dance from the outside, the Guren's long strides eating up ground, the arms grabbing, slash harkens whip-cracking and snapping like angry snakes.

It's a dance where a misstep could mean more than a slip and loss of rhythm. It could mean failure. It could mean death.

But that doesn't keep the fierce smile off Kallen's face, or disrupt the rhythm of her breathing.

9. Teeth the Size of Piano Keys, by Chiodos (Lelouch/C.C.)

"What do you really want from me?" he demands of the girl with the cold sunset eyes.

She smiles, but it's as icy as the snow.

She doesn't tell him in words, preferring that he learn to trust her, this boy with the command in his voice, the checkmate stare.

10. Time to Dance, by Panic! at the Disco (Lelouch/C.C.)

The blood pooling under her, he stares.

He's seen this before.

Why has he seen this before?

Fire roars behind him and

(no, not right, should have been a stone wall, in the Shinjuku ghetto)

(what, no, I've never been to Shinjuku, they destroyed it a year ago, and)

the barrels of guns gaze murderously at him and

(I've seen this before)

she grips his arm (NOT DEAD?) and whspers to him of power.
