Randomly, I want to ask if it's bad that I tried to read Soul Eater over the summer, and it just. Did little to nothing for me? It's not that I found it bad--in fact, I found it pretty damn good. I just...I judge my real gut reactions to manga based on how I think about them when I am not reading them at that exact moment in time. If I walk away and thoughts on character development and fanart ravage my brain, I know I hit gold. And Soul Eater...I walked away and forgot I'd even tried. :/ And that's it, I guess. I might finish it over another break when I'm home with free time, but... *shrugs* I don't know.

It's possible that having a friendslist full of people who absolutely love it worked against me, as I expected IMMEDIATE BRAIN-GRABBY and was disappointed. I know I've built up series for friends to the point that I made their expectations too unrealistic when they finally saw/read it. It happens.

...*sigh* I guess I'm afraid of finding out I have terrible taste...

IN OTHER NEWS. I broke my first college milestone this Sunday night... >.> <.< (^^) /random emoticons

In other other news, my Ruby got accepted at squarewarts *DANCES DANCES DANCES* WE NEED A SAPPHIRE, CALLING FOR SAPPHIRES PRZ I also made two icons for that journal by coloring scans! I felt really accomplished because they turned out better than I expected (though, compared to real icons, still pretty crappy |D BUT I LOVE THEM).

I need to stop playing Katamari Damacy and do something productive :/

I feel the same way with Claymore.

There is nothing wrong with it and quite a lot right, yet... it just doesn't grab me the way other stuff has.

I'm so afraid to start Claymore because I worry I won't like it in that exact same way. All my RP friends love it to pieces, and I already feel kind of the odd one out for not having read it.

Yeah, it's like, there are these really great manga/anime/comics/what have you that I feel like I should like, but just can't get in to. I keep meaning to read Soul Eater, but then forget, Peter keeps trying to pull me in to several things at once, one of these days I'll watch Castle, etc. etc. etc.

I think maybe, for me, it's just a matter of what I'm looking for right now, you know? And while those things are good, they're just... not quite it.

*sigh*

YAY FOR RUBY!

And, hmm. I'll admit that it took quite a few chapters for me to really get sucked into SE, for what it's worth. The first, eh, arc is decent? But it really does get better from there.
