Jacen looked up, tears in his eyes. He was holding a sealed shoebox and standing next to the airlock.

"You can't give that a space funeral," she said. "It's not a being."

"It was a part of ME!" he sobbed. His face was covered in razor nicks from where he'd shaved off the remains. "It was PRECIOUS TO ME!"
