A Super Cool New Thing

I just had the most miserable day of work so far. No one communicated and everything went wrong and I wanted to punch babies.

HOWEVER I have decided that I wish to embark upon a new project! It occurs to me that I spend a lot of time lately flailing about Pokemanz on this journal, and I am aware that there are members of my flist who are not into Pokemon or kind of are but not really. This is, of course, perfectly fine (and probably a sign that you are all functional adults, as opposed to me, who is perpetually ten years old on the inside). BUT I AM WILLING TO BET THAT YOU HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY READ THE MANGA, WHICH IS COMPLETELY AMAZING.

I am a pretty good enabler and have already enabled several people into reading it, but these days, who has the time for reading? THUS, I AM EMBARKING ON A MISSION. AN AMAZING MISSION.

I am going to, volume by volume, week by week, recap and analyze Pokemon Special.




Okay, most of that was crap. I really just want to do it just to do it, there's no real intense burning evangelical reason.

Pokemon Special: Recap, Edition One

Get Him to the Greek

First it was a parody.

Then it was a deconstruction.

Then it was a subversion of a parody.

Then it was a parody of a deconstruction.

Then it was a deconstruction of a parody of a subversion of a deconstruction.



In short, it was a mindfuck.




Though I usually dislike R-rated comedies, because they tend to pander to a certain set of people's expectations, this defied everything I had expected to see. I recommend it, though be prepared to feel awkward at least once.
