I'm not caught up to the FMA manga past volume 17, so here is my non-spoily (also not-based-on-any-scene-in-canon) fail: --
"Sir. You have paperwork to do. It is not necessary for you to be at my side from when visiting hours begin to when they end." Riza coughed; the pneumonia made it hard to talk.
Roy waved her off. "No need to thank me, Lieutenant Hawkeye," he said. He plucked a rose out of one of the many bouquets sent to her by her fellow officers. "Do you think holding this in my teeth would make me look more dashing?" He placed the stem in his mouth and pulled it right back out, wincing. "The florist missed a thorn," he said, by way of explanation.
Riza coughed again. "Please, sir. You've been at this for three days."
