The Karin-bashing over at capslock_naruto is really upsetting me. Like, really upsetting me.

Actual quote: "Karin, shut up. You get to talk when you do something."

Excuse me? Excuse me??? For your goddamned information, Karin has been doing something: Her job. Karin is a sensory-type ninja. It's her job to find Danzou. It's her job to then communicate Danzou's location to Sasuke so he can kill him and they can get the frack out of Dodge. Why in god's name would she jump into the fray when physical combat isn't her specialty? And even if it was, what the hell would Karin accomplish by getting distracted by fighting when she's supposed to be tracking Danzou? I'm willing to bet that a male character wouldn't be getting this kind of flak from the fanbase.

You know who hasn't done anything in two chapters? Suigetsu. You know whose specialty is combat, and yet who hasn't won a fight in...a very long time? Suigetsu. You know who isn't getting bashed at all? Take a wild guess.

(Not that I want Suigetsu to get bashed. I love him. But the obvious misogyny is killing me.)

You know what kinda bugged me (well, bugged is a strong word, maybe *confused* is better) is all the "sensory-type" nins that are popping up. Okay, I understand that Hyuuga can literally see chakra, so maybe Aoi the Byakugan-stealer is excused this but.... that is KARIN'S SPECIAL...er, SPECIALNESS! GET YOUR OWN SPECIALNESS!I mean, Sasuke chooses her for this thing only she can do, Orochimaru chooses her for this. Or was I totally wrong? Is it just rare, not only her?

Karin *is* doing her job...sucessfully too. She zeroed in on Danzou in this fic. Yes, she has her flaws (and her badassery) but that is because she is a character. Complaining she should be quiet is silly. She has been giving very reasonable suggestions.

Will this be the end for Sasuke...and his hatred!? (gotta love the random SJ stuff)

I haven't been on the interwebs often enough lately to know what's going on but I agree that Karin doesn't deserve this crap. But there are more important things to rave about...like Gaara unexpectedly steeling Naruto's job as redemtion-guy. Sorry I didn't respond to your text btw; I was out with the (now official) boy friend until just a little bit ago. XD

It happens in every fandom and you know. I'll admit it took me awhile to warm up to Misa of Death Note, but to my shock, for entirely different reasons than the majority of the fandom.

Long story short: I took issue with Kira!Misa and not Misa herself.

As far as I'm concerned, we have yet to learn enough about Karin to accurately comprehend her entirely. Certainly, she can hold her own against the best.
