Karin glares with impotent fury, a steaming red blush climbing her cheeks. "Suigetsu, who the hell said you could go through my stuff, huh? I'm pretty sure nobody did. Because you can't."

He teasingly holds up a sheaf of papers of varying ages--some are practically new, others worn almost to shreds. "You've been writing love letters to yourself, addressed from Sasuke, for close to three years? And you've carried them with you this whole time? Karin, I think you just made my month."

It's really lucky for Karin that Sasuke happens to be on patrol and Juugo is on water-retrieval duty at this time, and she knows it. She straightens her glasses, saying, "They're secret documents. You're just seeing the protective genjutsu layer--"

"You, ma'am, are lying. Totally lying," Suigetsu says, grinning so widely that he's in danger of slacing a lip open on his sharp teeth.

"Am not."

"Yes, you are. You fidget with your glasses when you aren't telling the truth."

Karin scowls, cursing at his unexpectedly acute observation skills. But she's running out of time and Suigetsu basically lives for opportunities to make her life hell. "What," she says, taking off her glasses, "can I do to make you forget about this whole thing?"

Suigetsu's gaze slides down from her face. "Let me think..."

Oh, god, poor Karin! I mean, it's perfectly THEM and Karin isn't asking for pity, but I'm just thinking about how lonely and screwed up to do that.

I think that either a.) Karin is UP TO SOMETHING (which I have addressed in previous posts), or b.) she is extremely lonely and screwed up. I also wonder if a big part of the reason she attaches herself to Sasuke so much despite his obvious rebuffs is the fact that he does rebuff her, rather than take advantage.

I really liked both of those options. The last one in particular is very, very interesting (that she goes for Sasuke because he will rebuff her).
