"Juugo. Stop it. You're creeping me out." Karin squints at him, even though her glasses are perfectly straight. She could just be trying to dismiss the goldfinch on his head as simply part of his shock of orange hair.

He starts and turns around guiltily, his usual reaction when someone speaks to him unexpectedly. "...Stop what?" he asks.

"Stop talking to birds. They follow us all the time now. Pooping on stuff and dropping feathers--not," she adds, "that I minded it when Suigetsu got a big one in the face the other day, but we're starting to become easy to track."

Juugo's face is stricken. "But--"

"I mean, next you'll be dancing around next to the waterfall, singing and stuff. It just isn't manly, Juugo." A shrug. "And Sasuke gets that unconscious twitch whenever he sees crows, seriously."

"But--"

Karin adjusts her glasses irritably. "No buts."
