I would like to thank TV Tropes for introducing me to this site. Basically, they make fun of the hilariously bad covers of cheap romance novels. So funny.
I love that. I think it's incredibly important to be able to mock the shortcomings of something you love. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something that's cheesy/B-grade/juvenile/what-have-you, but it's never a bad thing to recognize what's wrong with them.
I mean, come on, we read Naruto. You ought to see the things I have called Sasuke in conversations with fellow fans, yet I still love him. He could eat a baby and I'd still love him.
Despite their lolarious commentary, though, I admit I could never hold down my gag reflex long enough to read the things they do.
Yeaaah. Recently, one of my friends referenced SBTB in a paper she wrote, which got her reading romance novels. Any time she teases me about reading Naruto, I just counter it with whatever neon-colored book it is this week.
And, word on mocking what you love. Things are just no fun if you take everything too seriously all the time.
