So far I have been choosing pain, but I fear the worst is yet to come.

Eh, in my experience the pain was the worst in the beginning. As soon as I could tolerate it without the ridiculous meds, I stopped them.

I'm glad I quit taking the meds--honestly, the pain really wasn't anything worse than stuff I've had to live with before. I hate feeling drugged up. :c

Nah, I don't like not feeling like I can think properly. This has, in fact, led me to my New Year's Resolution: Get extremely fit and stay healthy for the rest of my life so I don't have to be on pills when I am old.

Haha oh man I totally went for the pain meds over the pain when I had surgery, but I can't really recommend it. I think I was becoming slightly addicted to them by the end: I was disappointed I wasn't in pain and thus didn't have an excuse to take them :/
