The fact that I do not own a DS is now completely galling me. I have SoulSilver just sitting on my desk in its case, begging to be played. I did sneak over to a friend's dorm last night and played it on her DS, but I left the DS in her room because I felt weird borrowing it for an extended period of time.

But it was worth it for the laugh I got once I reached Mahogany Town: You know the Team Rocket base there, in the basement of that one shop? Well, in the remakes, they added a very obvious antenna sticking out of the tree next to it, making me lol. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. When I walked over to read the sign, it said (I am not making this up):

"Just a Souvenir Shop
Nothing Suspicious about It
No Need to be Alarmed."

/rofls off into sunset

Been doing well in classes. I get my history midterm back tomorrow, which is the last thing for a while that has me ripping my hair out. But now I have to come up with a research topic this week for Human Voice. Have I mentioned how much I hate the scientific method? I hate it a lot.

On the plus side, I get to write a paper analyzing any poem I want from the sixteenth or seventeenth centuries! I'm torn between John Donne and one of the other metaphysical poets. I kind of like Herrick and Marvell, too. SO MANY WONDERFUL OPTIONS :DD this is why I am an English major *~~*

/shakes with excitement for your poetry analysis assignment

I say Marvell or Lovelace. I used to hate Donne, but I'm getting warmed up to him.

AHAHAHA I didn't notice the antenna until you pointed it out.
When you listen to the PokeGear radio and they do the "top 3 attractions in each town" show, their #1 for Mahogany Town is the shop. The announcer is like (paraphrased) "We didn't see anything special about the shop, aside from all those people in black outfits going in and out of it all the time. We wonder what they're buying, since the shop's staff doesn't sell anything too special. Well, the only reason we put it at the top is because our office was suddenly flooded with nominations to put that shop at the top of the list!" TEAM ROCKET YOU ARE SO SUBTLE, NO REALLY

Had we but world enough, and time,
This coyness, lady, were no crime.
We would sit down and think which way
To walk, and pass our long love's day;
Thou by the Indian Ganges' side
Shouldst rubies find; I by the tide
Of Humber would complain. I would
Love you ten years before the Flood;
And you should, if you please, refuse
Till the conversion of the Jews.
My vegetable love should grow
Vaster than empires, and more slow.
An hundred years should go to praise
Thine eyes, and on thy forehead gaze;
Two hundred to adore each breast,
But thirty thousand to the rest;
An age at least to every part,
And the last age should show your heart.
For, lady, you deserve this state,
Nor would I love at lower rate.

But at my back I always hear
Time's winged chariot hurrying near;
And yonder all before us lie
Deserts of vast eternity.
Thy beauty shall no more be found,
Nor, in thy marble vault, shall sound
My echoing song; then worms shall try
That long preserv'd virginity,
And your quaint honour turn to dust,
And into ashes all my lust.
The grave's a fine and private place,
But none I think do there embrace.

Now therefore, while the youthful hue
Sits on thy skin like morning dew,
And while thy willing soul transpires
At every pore with instant fires,
Now let us sport us while we may;
And now, like am'rous birds of prey,
Rather at once our time devour,
Than languish in his slow-chapp'd power.
Let us roll all our strength, and all
Our sweetness, up into one ball;
And tear our pleasures with rough strife
Thorough the iron gates of life.
Thus, though we cannot make our sun
Stand still, yet we will make him run.

Or you could be insane and do Milton.

Oh, I was thinking about that one!

Nah, I'm not brave enough to do Milton.

That one is iconic because of "But at my back I always hear / Time's winged chariot hurrying near / And yonder all before us lie / Deserts of vast eternity." ^_^

Though Donne has some great ones too. You could do a shorter one like "The Sun Rising" or "The Flea" which is totally NC-17.

Ahahaha, I loved "The Flea." I was thinking about doing "The Ecstasy," but I really can't choose.

I'm kind of a Donne fangirl, so I would so go for that but, y'know, fangirl and all that. The Marvell poem so-and-so pasted up there is another favorite too.

La la, so many lovely poets to choose from in that era. Ooo, Aphra Behn is another, simply because she's awesome (she was a spy for England natch), possibly Shakespeare's "dark lady", and writes fairly feminist poetry in the 1600s, so. /thumbsup

I looooooove Donne. So much. But on the other hand, I am a huge fan of that Marvell poem |Da

Sadly, I can't use anyone who isn't in my textbook, and Aphra Behn isn't. So sad ;;
